The 8922-RB-IS is a passive infrastructure component designed to segment the MTL8000 series backplane bus. It provides galvanic isolation between the "Safe Area" Railbus (connected to the controller/gateway) and the "Intrinsically Safe" Railbus (powering IS I/O modules like the 8220-DI-IS).

A: No. The module is bus-powered. It draws a small quiescent current (50mA / 60mA) directly from the 12V Railsus backplane on both sides of the barrier. No separate field wiring is needed for power.

Q: What is the difference between the "2/2 Side" and "2/1 Side"?

2/2 Side: Connects to the Controller/Host segment of the bus. This side is not intrinsically safe and typically carries the higher Um (250V) rating.
2/1 Side: Connects to the Field I/O Module segment. This side is protected and provides power to IS modules like the 8220-DI-IS.

Q: Can I use more than one 8922-RB-IS on a single node?
