Short Description
The TVOC-2 Arc Guard System is an arc protection relay that mitigates arc faults and helps to protect people and equipment. The Arc monitor is the main unit of the Arc Guard System which detects the light of an arc and through the fast IGBT contacts sends an electrical signal within 1 ms to a nearby breaker that breaks the power and extinguishes the arc. The Arc monitor has 10 detector inputs and can trip up to three breakers with zone selectivity if needed. Up to 2 extension units can extend the number of light detectors to 30 and the unit includes an HMI that can be placed on the outside of the door. Detectors are sold in a wide range of lengths to fit a full switchgear design. Supply voltage 100... 250 V DC or 100... 240 V AC 50 / 60 Hz. Accessories include current sensing unit, optical cables, cable straps etc.

Ultra-Fast Reaction Time: Trips IGBT solid-state contacts in approximately < 1 ms from light detection, overriding standard protection delays to minimize arc energy .
Functional Safety Certified: Hardware-based safety integrity level SIL-2 according to IEC 61508 and IEC 62061, corresponding to Performance Level d (EN ISO 13849-1).
Expandable Architecture: Supports up to 30 optical detectors using additional extension modules (TVOC-2-E1 or TVOC-2-E3) for comprehensive cubicle coverage .
Integrated HMI (Human Machine Interface): Equipped with a graphic LCD and keypad for easy configuration, trip logging (with time/date stamp), and self-diagnostic error logs. The HMI is panel door mountable (IP54 front protection) .
Modbus RTU Communication: The COM Module variant (TVOC-2-240-C) provides real-time status updates and remote connectivity via Modbus RTU protocol .
Zone Selectivity: Configurable DIP switches allow the unit to trip specific breakers (up to 3 IGBT outputs) based on the specific sensor detecting the arc.
